This week, on International Youth Day (12 Aug 2025), UNDP Myanmar released the first report in UNDP’s Myanmar Youth Series examines migration intentions, reasons, and possible consequences. Drawing on the voices of more than 7,000 youth nationwide, the findings reveal that 4 in 10 would migrate if given the chance, and that those with higher education are most likely to consider leaving. The report offers rare, data-driven insights to better understand the realities facing Myanmar’s next generation and to guide programmes in responding effectively.
