Needs Monitoring and Analysis Working Group (NMA WG)
The Needs Monitoring and Analysis Working Group (NMA WG) is a multi-sector, multi-stakeholder coordination platform established in April 2022 by the Inter-Cluster Coordination Group (ICCG) in Myanmar. Its purpose is to strengthen the coordination of needs assessments and promote joint analysis to support evidence-based humanitarian planning and response.
The group brings together humanitarian partners to promote harmonized data collection, encourage the use of shared tools and standards, and ensure that analysis is inclusive, timely, and aligned with strategic priorities. It plays a key role in informing both strategic and operational decision-making by contributing to the Humanitarian Needs and Response Plan (HNRP) and other key planning processes.
The NMA WG is guided by global standards, including the IASC Operational Guidance on coordinated assessments and data responsibility. It supports the work of the ICCG and Humanitarian Country Team (HCT) by serving as a space for collaboration, technical exchange, and collective interpretation of data.
